Keep reading throughout the summer – and earn some free stuff along the way. There are several community partners offering great incentives for reading! Click on some of the images below to see the details of each offer.
Barnes & Noble – Get a free “Summer Reading Kit”. Read 8 books and then you can choose a book for free.
Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge – Log minutes, earn rewards, help set a new reading world record, and earn books for your class.
Pottery Barn Kids – Download a book list and progress tracker to record your reading. When completed you can receive a free book and be entered to win a backpack of books.
Chuck E. Cheese – Download the Reading Rewards Calendar, complete and return it for 10 free tokens.
Utah State Fair – Read 10 books, complete a reading record, and receive a gate entry pass, free drink, and free ride at the Utah State Fair in September.
Orem Public Library – Starting in June, sign up for summer reading programs. Earn weekly rewards such as coupons to restaurants, museums, arcades, etc. Also, attend free programs, workshops and other events throughout the summer.

All students are invited to participate in the festival by choosing a fairy tale, fable, legend, or folk story to learn, perfect, and perform for their classroom.
Each classroom will select a representative to participate in the Grade Level Competition. Grade level winners will perform for the student body and in a special family storytelling event.

A letter explaining next year’s student placement process will be included with report cards on March 7. Students will stay on the same time track next year unless a change is requested. Time change forms (available in the office) are due Friday, April 4th. Kindergarten report cards will include a form to request a time for 1st grade (8:00am/Early Bird or 9:15am/Later Gator). Parent letters requesting special placement consideration are also due Friday, April 4th.

Testing will run from March 24 – May 1 this year. Please plan to have your student in school when his/her class is testing. Watch for more detailed information about testing to come home in March.
